Deaf Awareness Week 2023

 

This week is Deaf Awareness Week. The purpose of the week is to increase public awareness of challenges that the Deaf community face and educate about how to support Deaf people.

British Sign Language

British Sign Language (BSL) is the first or preferred langauge of an estimated 87,000 Deaf people in the UK. It is a visual language, with its own grammar and principles.

The London MarathonOn Sunday, a fantastic group of runners took part in the London Marathon to raise funds for Ambitious about Autism. Among them was Paul Evans, who became the Guinness World Record holder for fastest man to run the marathon dressed as a knight and our top fundraiser, Dave Tottman, who has raised over £10,000 for us!
