Guernsey autism blue buckets aim to ease Halloween stress

The Smile for Georgie Foundation has paid for the buckets that are being distributed to children with autism across the island

Residents in Guernsey are being asked to look out for blue buckets. 

Autistic children who are trick or treating can hold them so that residents know they have autism and may respond differently to their neurotypical friends.

Diamond Day Centre in Irthlingborough was one of the services run by NAS that was set to close

An agreement has been reached to postpone the closure of autism services for adults in North Northamptonshire.

Services have been given a 6 month extension to allow time to find a long term solution.

Young people with autism and learning disabilities will be able to visit the centre for up to 75 nights a year

A bungalow has been renovated to provide a respite centre for families of autistic children. 

Children aged between 8 and 17 will be able to stay in the bungalow to allow parents valuable time alone.
