Neurodiversity event moved to meet demand

Whitehall place offers Hanwell man, 22, new career vision

This article, reports on Nicholas Lines, one of the 92 autistic people who took part in our Civil Service internship programme this year.

Nicholas completed a four-week placement with the Department for Innovation, Science and Technology, which was facilitated by our Employ Autism programme.

Speaking about the experience, Nicholas said: “It was a particularly exciting time to work in the Civil Service, due to the transition from one government to another. I even got to join colleagues in welcoming the new Secretary of State.”

'Woman's kindness to my autistic son restored faith'

A mum said her "faith in humanity was restored" when a stranger offered support after her autistic son had a "meltdown".

Abbie, 29, from Elmswell, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is mum to Toby, four, who was diagnosed as autistic when he was two-and-a-half.
