Shows celebrate disabled and neurodivergent artists

Paintings, prints and poetry have gone on display at a contemporary art studio set up to support neurodivergent and disabled artists.

The work, exploring the archive of a photographer diagnosed with dementia, has been produced by 10 artists at Coventry organisation Art Riot Collective (ARC).

Disabled access: 'Some places are just a no go'

A project to help remove barriers for disabled people on a high street found about half of shops and other businesses were not accessible to wheelchair users.

Our Scene has put together a booklet and training film to help businesses make adjustments, such as purchasing portable ramps, having lower serving counters and installing hearing loops.

It includes advice to help those with hidden disabilities and neurodiverse conditions.

Areas look to become autism-friendly

Two areas in Surrey are launching a drive to become autism-friendly communities with a free event.

The Autism-Friendly Guildford and Waverley Launch Event will take place between 14:00 and 18:00 BST on Monday at G Live in Guildford.

Surrey County Council says the aim is to give autistic people more of a voice and to make it easier to access shops and services by improving understanding of the condition.
